²隞硋䂿»硋牧嚗?烐銵?馆瘥¾¸½惩穃嚗å¼麾å ææ㗲ç¸齿¯é燵敶浇?ææç鸡è凒憟贤¼	²And he answered them: What could I have done like to that which you have done? Is not one bunch of grapes of Ephraim better than the vintages of Abiezer?
³憭拐蜓撠蝐喳吨璆ç¦㚚 æ硋鍦¸åå¸鈭文銁雿惩烐衤叶嚗?烐è銵?馆è½惩㮾瘥䈑¼麄滨鈭»㚚嗵閰梧¼?»硋穃°滢»埝除嚗?停挢单鈭	³The Lord hath delivered into your bands the princes of Madian, Oreb and Zeb: what could I have done like to what you have done? And when he had said this, their spirit was appeased, with which they swelled against him.
⁴å抅驱瑞´靘?蝝½瘝喉¼?停皜⊿举众嚗»·罚辶隞¸厩参鈭绰¼?éç魿å佗¼?»滨匮蝥?萧頞	⁴And when Gedeon was come to the Jordan, he passed over it with the three hundred men, that were with him: who were so weary that they could not pursue after them that fled.
⁵隞硋蝛?鹱鈭卑牧嚗?«衤½惩策頝罚辶æ荦挢晓钅¤¼?删隞硋魿å虫º¼?煾¡睃绦餈质¶蝐喳吨璆çå讠见å毁暺åå肽单閧´ã	⁵And he said to the men of Soccoth: Give, I beseech you, bread to the people that is with me, for they are faint: that we may pursue Zebee, and Salmana the kings of Madian.
⁶蝛?鹱鈭个çå䂿磰牧嚗?éå毁暺åå肽单閧´ç见歇å銁雿删?銝哨¼?穃穃停閰脱¤策雿删»漤¼麄	⁶The princes of Soccoth answered: Peradventure the palms of the hands of Zebee and Salmana are in thy hand, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to thy army.
⁷å抅驱瑞´隤迎¼?末蝵瘀¼嗾æ¸蜓æå毁暺åå肽单閧´鈭文銁æ烐衤叶嚗?穃¿¦鍂è璇嘥?£㗛æ涂雿惩澈擃	⁷And he said to them: When the Lord therefore shall have delivered Zebee and Salmana into my hands, I will thresh your flesh with the thorns and briers of the desert.
⁸隞亘¾?眏é鋆∩¸绦嚗??鈭å畺憟渲³嚗?¹笔睲»硋牧鈭?见ç店嚗å畺憟渲³鈭筝䂿»碶¹笔蝛?鹱鈭箔¸璅?	⁸And going up from thence, he came to Phanuel: and he spoke the like things to the men of that place. And they also answered him, as the men of Soccoth had answered.
⁹隞碶¹笔°å畺憟渲³鈭卑牧嚗?訜æ穃像摰匧硺¾¼?穃¿¯é坔涟蝣匧岁ã	⁹He said therefore to them also: When I shall return a conqueror in peace, I will destroy this tower.
¹⁰éæå毁暺åå肽单閧´甇?銁å㨃ç?蝘?嚗?»硋»漤羓´劐¸è鈭荦嚗?蹱糓åéææ䲮摮鼗°烐å?銝讠»漤¼?删撌脱匧º?æç◤æº	¹⁰But Zebee and Salmana were resting with all their army. For fifteen thousand men were left of all the troops of the eastern people, and one hundred and twenty thousand warriors that drew the sword, were slain.
¹¹å抅驱瑞´驱隢晓毁暺å蝝仪瘜Ｗæé嚗? ½誩董琏纸荦ç楝銝绦嚗?訜æ訽鈭卑隞亦摰匧ç辷¼?必æº»滨¼	¹¹And Gedeon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents, on the east of Nobe and Jegbaa, and smote the camp of the enemies, who were secure, and suspected no hurt.
¹²å毁暺åå肽单閧´è氜è附?¼å抅驱瑞´å銁驱?餈质¶¼?劐½譍ºåå蝐喳吨璆ç见å毁暺åå肽单閧´嚗?蒂雿踹頠滩¦²鉝	¹²And Zebee and Salmana fled, and Gedeon pursued and took them, all their host being put in confusion.
¹³蝝燵憯«ç鍦å抅驱瑞´嚗?¾墧?å聦瘝¿韏怠埝鱻æ辺å硺¾¼	¹³And returning from the battle before the sun rising,
¹⁴æ劐½譍º蝛?鹱ç°穃侨鈭绰¼?䰻å譍»硔坔°穃侨鈭筝停蝯虫»硋神銝蝛?鹱ç¦㚚睃?è滚槟¼?銝¸荦ã	¹⁴He took a boy of the men of Soccoth: and he asked him the names of the princes and ancients of Soccoth, and he described unto him seventy-seven men.
¹⁵å抅驱瑞´é¾蝛?鹱鈭粹鋆∪绦隤迎¼?页¼蹱糓å毁暺åå肽单閧´嚗?½惩鈭»硋烐㦛霅雠¬烐牧嚗éå毁暺åå肽单閧´ç见歇å銁雿䭾?銝哨¼?穃穃停閰脱¤策雿删魿å衣荦å¼麄	¹⁵And he came to Soccoth and said to them: Behold Zebee and Salmana, concerning whom you upbraided me, saying: Peradventure the hands of Zebee and Salmana, are in thy hands, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to the men that are weary and faint.
¹⁶隞䲰æ糓æ劐½誯åè¼?鍂æ馆ㄐç璇嘥?£䀹蝵唬º蝛?鹱撅°㻫	¹⁶So he took the ancients of the city and thorns and briers of the desert, and tore them with the same, and cut in pieces the men of Soccoth.
¹⁷隞亘¾??å畺憟渲³ç¢匧岁æ¯嚗?捏æ?鈭ç±°㻫	¹⁷And he demolished the tower of Phanuel, and slew the men of the city.
¹⁸ç驱?岷åå毁暺åå肽单閧´隤迎¼?½惩穃銁憭批?撅曹¸捏æ?ç鈭荦æ糓æ举见ç荦å嚗麄滢»硋磰牧嚗?»硋穃譍½惩睲¸璅?¼?见钅å誩讠鍦僐	¹⁸And he said to Zebee and Salmana: What manner of men were they whom you slew in Thabor? They answered: They were like thee, and one of them as the son of a king.
¹⁹å抅驱瑞´隤迎¼?»硋烐糓æ¼¼?糓æ烐¯滩扛ç鍦琜¼纸¸蜓瘗佼銁嚗¦靝½惩睲¿萘嗘º»硋睲¸齿香嚗?睲¹笔停銝齿捏雿惩㻫	¹⁹He answered them: They were my brethren, the sons of my mother. As the Lord liveth, if you had saved them, I would not kill you.
²⁰隞㚚°滩撌梁摮è嗥鹱ç?隤迎¼?丝靘¼?捏甇台»硋¼滢½糓é坔酋软亘拿æ¼?¸滚å靘¼?删挢渡´é°讹	²⁰And he said to Jether his eldest son: Arise, and slay them. But he drew not his sword: for he was afraid, being but yet a boy.
²¹å䭾迨嚗å毁暺åå肽单閧´隤迎¼?½㰘扛è韏瑚¾捏甇饼穃菱嚗删鈭箸举见嚗?»偦譍¹举见ãå抅驱瑞´撠梯丝靘捏鈭å毁暺åå肽单閧´嚗?嚉å绦隞硋煾妤擏嗪瓲銝羓?嗵ã	²¹And Zebee and Salmana said: Do thou rise, and run upon us: because the strength of a man is according to his age: Gedeon rose up and slew Zebee and Salmana: and he took the ornaments and bosses, with which the necks of the camels of kings are wont to be adorned.
²²鈭见¾?¼隞亥å鈭箔噶撠å抅驱瑞´隤迎¼?½䭾ç驱蝐喳吨璆æ衤叶æ墙æ睲º穃¼?«衤½惩?½删重雿穃页¼	²²And all the men of Israel said to Gedeon: Rule thou over us and thy son, and thy son's son: because thou hast delivered us from the hand of Madian.
²³å抅驱瑞´å䂿»硋牧嚗?睲¸滢½靝½惩页¼?重銋煺¸滢½靝½惩页¼?æ劐¸蜓æ糓雿惩卝	²³And he said to them: I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you, but the Lord shall rule over you.
²⁴å抅驱瑞´å?睲»硋牧嚗?穃蘨å睲½惩¦±¸隞嗡º页¼期«见°¯譍荦æ惩左ç蝯行㻫滚煺¾靘嘥¸麐è³鈭粹æ厂ã	²⁴And he said to them: I desire one request of you: Give me the earlets of your spoils. For the Ismaelites were accustomed to wear golden earlets.
²⁵隞硋磰牧嚗?穃烐¡条策雿齿䲰æ糓è㚚衤¸隞嗅¤﹝嚗?¯譍荦ææ惩左çæ搻å銁銝ã	²⁵They answered: We will give them most willingly. And spreading a mantle on the ground, they cast upon it the earlets of the spoils.
²⁶隞阆åæ劐¸å¸参 å?è哟 ; 甇文¤硋°㗇?嗵嚗?喟å蝐喳吨璆ç蝛辐换蝝﹝嚗?»硋煾妤擏嗪瓲銝羓 ?	²⁶And the weight of the earlets that he requested, was a thousand seven hundred sicles of gold, besides the ornaments, and jewels, and purple raiment which the kings of Madian were went to use, and besides the golden chains that were about the camels' necks.
²⁷å抅驱瑞´ç鍂é嗘º偦穃鞾º¸å卝¼堒¾¼?®厩荫å銁隞åæ硋¼麾ã隞亥åç䔿鈭粹å?é鋆∟¡?瘛恬¼?䭾迨é坔卝¼堒¾譍噶æºå抅驱瑞´å摰呛雠¾雯ã	²⁷And Gedeon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city Ephra. And all Israel committed fornication with it, and it became a ruin to Gedeon and to all his house.
²⁸蝐喳吨璆å銁隞亥å摮鼗°穃滚±?㵪¼?齿²埝㗇䠋韏珲靘å抅驱瑞´å銁銝¼?¢挢喳®劐º侨ã	²⁸But Madian was humbled before the children of Israel, neither could they any more lift up their beads: but the land rested for forty years, while Gedeon presided.
²⁹蝝燵憯«ç鍦è园陌撌渲³å䞶绦嚗?®匧±銁è撌勖振銝准	²⁹So Jerobaal the son of Joas went, and dwelt in his own house.
³⁰å抅驱瑞´æ劐¸见鍦琜¼?æ糓隞扛ç毺¼?删隞匧¾?¤氖摮僐	³⁰And he had seventy sons, who came out of his thigh, for he had many wives.
³¹隞硋銁è齿觅ç污銋毺策隞煺º¸å见鍦琜¼?策隞丝å滚㙈é燵敶潮»䁅见耻ã	³¹And his concubine, that he had in Sichem, bore him a son, whose name was Abimelech.
³²蝝燵憯«ç鍦å抅驱瑞´憯赐µ迤撖ｇ¼?见銁é燵敶浇?çæ硋¼麾嚗?»?阆ª蝝燵憯«ç４憓刊ㄐã	³²And Gedeon the son of Joas died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father in Ephra of the family of Ezri.
³³å抅驱瑞´甇饺¾?¼隞亥å摮鼗°穃?绦頝笔¾撌渲³隢貊¥噼¡?瘛恬¼?«撌渲唾²嗪»鹱ç訜å纸»硋予銝飒	³³But after Gedeon was dead, the children of Israel turned again, and committed fornication with Baalim. And they made a covenant with Baal, that he should be their god:
³⁴隞亥å摮鼗°穃¿䁅¨䀝º¸蜓隞硋予銝鸣¼?㦛驱䞶ææ厩訽鈭箸衤叶æ睲º»硋¼	³⁴And they remembered not the Lord their God, who delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies round about:
³⁵銋²埝㗇驱è园陌撌渲³å朗å抅驱瑞´ç振嚗?诳å蝑»鴌æ䲰隞亥åçæ	³⁵Neither did they shew mercy to the house of Jerobaal Gedeon, according to all the good things he had done to Israel.
