²蝐喳吨璆鈭个å嗪º隞亥å嚗隞亥å摮鼗°鈭俈蝳¦蝐喳吨璆鈭绰¼?耨蝭劐º控瘣瘣䞶?控撖具	²1O And I said: I am the Lord your God, fear not the gods of the Amorrhites, in whose land you dwell. And you would not hear my voice.
³瘥誯¢隞亥å鈭箸垍车銋见¾?¼蝐喳吨璆鈭箝é燵ç麐è见鈭筝?æ䲮摮鼗°穃停銝¾æ㮖»硋¼	³And they were grievously oppressed by them. And they made themselves dens and eaves in the mountains, and strong holds to resist.
⁴撠滩»硋背ç¼?¯憯䞶çç凒å?餈西慐銝掸冢¼?²埝厩策隞亥åç嗘¸衤¸暺鲉£毺扣嚗??¾䜘岷銋²埝厩嗘¸页¼	⁴And when Israel had sown, Madian and Amalec, and the rest of the eastern nations came up:
⁵å删隞硋蜇æ糓掸嗉堒振ç?董琏纸¸¾¼?¤¦酑嚗»硋睲¾荦å?妤擏嘥¤¾㛖æ彍嚗?¸誩憓嚗?¯憯䂿视åã	⁵And pitching their tents among them, wasted all things as they were in the blade even to the entrance of Gaza: and they left nothing at all in Israel for sustenance of life, nor sheep, nor oxen, nor asses.
⁶隞亥åç鈭蝐喳吨璆鈭个¼?¾?糓蝒桀嚗?䭾迨隞亥å摮鼗°穃鐤蝐脖º¸蜓ã	⁶For they and all their flocks came with their tents, and like locusts filled all places, an innumerable multitude of men, and of camels, wasting whatsoever they touched.
⁷ç訜隞亥å摮鼗°鈭蝐喳吨璆ç¼?鐤蝐脖¸蜓æ¼	⁷And Israel was humbled exceedingly in the sight of Madian.
⁸銝蜓撠望晷鈭¸雿滚?䰻å?隞亥å摮鼗°煾鋆∴¼?°滢»硋牧嚗?¸蜓隞亥åç予銝驳蹱见隤迎¼糓æ睲蝙雿惩眏å銝¾¼? 䀝½惩煾é衤º憟港¹见振嚗	⁸And he cried to the Lord desiring help against the Madianites.
⁹æ糓æ穃¾å鈭个衤叶嚗?¾硺¸å£刊翰雿惩荦æ衤叶æ穃雿惩睲¾¼糓æ穃¾硺½惩煾å齿»硋¶閗粥嚗?»硋鞈策雿惩㻫	⁹And he sent unto them a prophet, and he spoke: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: I made you to come up out of Egypt, and brought you out of the house of bondage,
¹⁰æ烐㦛撠滢½惩牧é¼烐糓銝蜓雿惩予銝鸣¼?½惩穃銁é燵æ暺åæ䲮嚗?¸滚虾æç譍»硋¥¼½糓雿惩烐²埝㕑驱墧店ã	¹⁰And delivered you out of the hands of the Egyptians, and of all the enemies that afflicted you: and I cast them out at your coming in, and gave you their land.
¹¹銝蜓ç蝙è¾?嚗?銁æ硋¼麾ç¸琏萄敦æ䲰é燵敶浇?鈭º蝝燵憯«ç砟è冽邦銝页¼?訜æ»鍦å抅驱瑞´甇?銁éé埝±㰘ㄐæ㯄渐摮琜¼?熔é蝐喳吨璆鈭箝	¹¹And an angel of the Lord came, and sat under an oak, that was in Ephra, and belonged to Joas the father of the family of Ezri. And when Gedeon his son was threshing and cleansing wheat by the winepress, to flee from Madian,
¹²銝蜓ç蝙è＊ç蝯虫»吔¼?°滢»牧嚗?㘚åㄞ憯恬¼?¡䀝¸蜓è½惩?銁嚗	¹²The angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said: The Lord is with thee, O most valiant of men.
¹³å抅驱瑞´å䂿»牧嚗?睲蜓嚗?«见蠘«¼¦靝¸蜓è穃穃?銁嚗?穃烐举é嗘ºé嚗¥硋?策æ穃烐雓偦銝å¥º页¼?¦»銁é鋆∴¼煺»硋烐㦛å烐穃牧é¼页¼?糓銝蜓é 䀹穃穃éå嚗?½糓çå銁銝蜓æ£º穃¼?°穃睲漱å銁蝐喳吨璆鈭个?銝准	¹³And Gedeon said to him: I beseech thee, my lord, if the Lord be with us, why have these evils fallen upon us? Where are his miracles, which our fathers have told us of, saying: The Lord brought us Out of Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the bands of Madian.
¹⁴銝蜓瘜刻¦碶»牧嚗?睲½嗵车å偦¼?½惩绦æ墙æ隞亥åèé蝐喳吨璆鈭个?ã页¼?糓æ烐晷é雿	¹⁴And the Lord looked upon him, and said: Go in this thy strength, and then shalt deliver Israel out of the hand of Madian: know that I have sent thee.
¹⁵隞硋䂿磰牧嚗?睲蜓嚗?«见蠘«¼烐睲»暻潭墙æ隞亥å嚗毺页¼?穃振å銁暺条´滚æ瘣历叶æ糓æå穃凝ç¼?穃銁æ?阆芸振銝剖?糓æ撠雠¸å卝	¹⁵He answered and said: I beseech thee, my lord, wherewith shall I deliver Israel? Behold my family is the meanest in Manasses, and I am the least in my father's house.
¹⁶銝蜓撠滢»牧嚗?㗇½惩?銁嚗?½惩¿蝐喳吨璆鈭绰¼?¦¸å衤荦銝璅?	¹⁶And the Lord said to him: I will be with thee: and thou shalt cut off Madian as one man.
¹⁷å抅驱瑞´å?睲»牧嚗?å銁雿å滩蹱嚗?«衤½删策æ睲¸å贝¨䁅¼?㗇馆牧閰梁糓雿	¹⁷And he said: If I have found grace before thee, give me a sign that it is thou that speakest to me,
¹⁸隢衤½¸滩¦é迨å嚗?㗇穃䞶?雿体ㄐ嚗?葆靘旨ç?嚗?唍å銁雿惩溻滢»娍㕑牧嚗?劐½惩硺¾	¹⁸And depart not hence, till I return to thee, and bring a sacrifice, and offer it to thee. And he answered: I will wait thy coming.
¹⁹å抅驱瑞´撠勖绦é 嗘º¸é塀撠誩撅梁¾¼??鍂銝ã³誯渐蝎劐½靝ºé擗¼?㗇å銁蝑鞱ㄐ嚗?僖ç銁蝵鞱ㄐ嚗?葆å?蝭方冽邦銝讠㭱蝯虫»硔	¹⁹So Gedeon went in, and boiled a kid, and made unleavened loaves of a measure of flour: and putting the flesh in a basket, and the broth of the flesh into a pot, he carried all under the oak, and presented to him.
²⁰憭拐蜓ç蝙è°滢»牧嚗?嚉åè匧?é擗¾¼?å銁é嗵£鞟銝¼?僖å鍦靘¼滢»硋停ç璅?½靝º	²⁰And the angel of the Lord said to him: Take the flesh and the unleavened loaves, and lay them upon that rock, and pour out the broth thereon. And when he had done so,
²¹銝蜓ç蝙è挠åæ衤叶æ嚉ç£齿吔¼?㚚銝阃佼匧?é擗¼?£鞟靘辑丝ç嚗?匧?é擗䞶艔鈭¼¸蜓ç蝙è噶驱硺»å漤黸瘝雴º	²¹The angel of the Lord put forth the tip of the rod, which he held in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened loaves: and there arose a fire from the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened loaves: and the angel of the Lord vanished out of his sight.
²²å抅驱瑞´é䰻é㮖»糓銝蜓ç蝙è牧嚗?嚗睲蜓銝蜓嚗?«毺é撠漤åç贝¦衤¸蜓ç蝙è¼	²²And Gedeon seeing that it was the angel of the Lord, said: Alas, my Lord God: for I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face.
²³雿¸蜓撠滢»牧嚗?½䭾敹¼¸滚¿拿æ¼?½¸齿香嚗	²³And the Lord said to him: Peace be with thee: fear not, thou shalt not die.
²⁴å抅驱瑞´撠勖銁é鋆∠策銝蜓软衤º¸摨抒平憯¼?迂çé¨²䠷嚗隞銁é燵敶浇?鈭个æ硋¼麾é鋆～	²⁴And Gedeon built there an altar to the Lord, and called it the Lord's peace, until this present day. And when he was yet in Ephra, which is of the family of Ezri,
²⁵ç訜憭靝¸蜓撠滢»牧嚗?碶½删?阆芰¸é塀ç¼?朗éé塀銝革çç¼?诳驱?¯雿删?阆芰撌渲³蟡剖£¼?梶¢举羓é燵è滩麾嚗	²⁵That night the Lord said to him: Take a bullock of thy father's, and another bullock of seven years, and thou shalt destroy the altar of Baal, which is thy father's: and cut down the grove that is about the altar:
²⁶蝯虫¸蜓雿删予銝饺銁é嗵£鞟é ¸遣銝摨抒平憯¼?º硋坔戎ç訜嚗?°é塀èç㭱çåç平嚗?鍂æ梶¢é燵è滩麾雿銁æ捿ã	²⁶And thou shalt build an altar to the Lord thy God in the top of this rock, whereupon thou didst lay the sacrifice before: and thou shalt take the second bullock, and shalt offer a holocaust upon a pile of the wood, which thou shalt cut down out of the grove.
²⁷å抅驱瑞´撠勖¾䞶蓥荦銝剥åå衤荦嚗?銝蜓åå»½靝º¼½删摰单閧?阆芰振鈭筝?馆ㄐç荦嚗?¸齿佅å銁ç蒾憭抵¡?º页¼?停å銁暺穃¤靝½靝º	²⁷Then Gedeon taking ten men of his servants, did as the Lord had commanded him. But fearing his father's house, and the men of that city, he would not do it by day, but did all by night.
²⁸å馆ㄐç荦ææ膥韏瑚¾¼?贝¦撌渲³ç平憯歇瘥嚗?æ厩é燵è滩麾銋蠘◤æ梶¢¼?é塀èç¹毺㭱æ䲰æ鳘蝭厩平憯¸¼	²⁸And when the men of that town were risen in the morning, they saw the altar of Baal destroyed, and the grove cut down, and the second bullock laid upon the altar, which then was built.
²⁹撠勖虾甇方岷å呓牧嚗?狐雿靝º嗘º页¼麄滨¶㯄馆¯蠘萧å譍¹见¾?¼?摰期牧嚗?¿糓蝝燵憯«ç鍦å抅驱瑞´雿靝º嗘º卝	²⁹And they said one to another: Who hath done this? And when they inquired for the author of the fact, it was said: Gedeon the son of Joas did all this.
³⁰å䭾迨æå荦撠蝝燵憯«隤迎¼?°½删鍦漱å靘¼?°»闹香嚗删隞¯鈭撌渲³ç平憯¼?梶¢º羓é燵è滩麾ã	³⁰And they said to Joas: Bring out thy son hither, that he may die: because he hath destroyed the altar of Baal, and hath cut down his grove.
³¹蝝燵憯«å䂿娍æ匧滚°滢»荦隤迎¼?½惩¦撌渲³颲航风暻潘¼½惩¦穃隞硋¼蠘狐ç隞剂霅瘀¼?予ææ膥靘辑府è蓥诳甇饺¼»硋¦糓蟡¼?®㮖»è撌梯剂霅瑞菱嚗删æ劐荦æ¯鈭»平憯	³¹He answered them: Are you the avengers of Baal, that you fight for him? he that is his adversary, let him die before to morrow light appear: if he be a god, let him revenge himself on him that hath cast down his altar.
³²å䭾迨ç訜憭拐荦撠梁迂å抅驱瑞´çã?园陌撌渲喋㵪¼?末å呓牧嚗?®撌渲³è»?颲荔¼?删å抅驱瑞´æ¯鈭»平憯	³²From that day Gedeon was called Jerobaal, because Joss had said: Let Baal revenge himself on him that hath cast down his altar.
³³éæ¼蝐喳吨璆ãé燵ç麐è见å?æ䲮摮鼗°煾è丝靘¼?º众嚗?銁靘脲活å附³挢喳笔®劐º麄	³³Now all Madian, and Amalec, and the eastern people were gathered together, and passing over the Jordan, camped in the valley of Jezrael.
³⁴銝蜓ç¥䞶遛鈭å抅驱瑞´嚗?»碶¸åè蠘§¼é燵敶浇?鈭箔噶æ匧å滢¾·罚辶隞吔¼	³⁴But the spirit of the Lord came upon Gedeon, and be sounded the trumpet and called together the house of Abiezer, to follow him.
³⁵隞硋?梶䔄雿辑粥é暺条´滚嚗暺条´滚鈭箔¹匧å滢¾·罚辶隞吔¼»硋?梶䔄雿辑¾é燵å?ãå郊éå蝝齿¡娪å绦嚗?»硋睲¹罚銝¾»硋烐?	³⁵And he sent messengers into all Manasses, and they also followed him: and other messengers into Aser and Zabulon and Nephtali, and they came to meet him.
³⁶å抅驱瑞´撠勖°滚予銝饷牧嚗?¦靝½䭾劐½䭾隤芰¼?蠘¦㗇墙æ隞亥å嚗	³⁶And Gedeon said to God: If thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast said,
³⁷ç穃°?銝讠¸æ羓¾¯å銁蝳晓聦銝¼?é蠧瘗游鳝å鳝è氜å銁蝢¯¸¼??滚éæ糓銋晔¼?暻潭睲噶æ匧¾槟¼?¦½䭾隤芰¼?½删蠘¦㗇墙æ隞亥åã	³⁷I will put this fleece of wool on the floor: if there be dew on the fleece only, and it be dry on all the ground beside, I, shall know that by my hand, as thou hast said, thou wilt deliver Israel.
³⁸甈⊥皜韏瑚¾¼?愦迨嚗å抅驱瑞´æ羓¾¯¸æ护嚗?¾䂿¾¯ㄐæ护å銝蝣烾蠧瘗氩	³⁸And it was so. And rising before day wringing the fleece, he filled a vessel with the dew.
³⁹å抅驱瑞´å?穃予銝饷牧嚗?¦穃滩牧銝甈∴¼?±½惩撠齿䔄æ¼«贝®鍂é嗵¾¯滩岫銝甈∴¼鳝å鳝蝢¯糓銋晔¼??滚éæ糓é蠧瘗氩	³⁹And he said again to God: let not thy wrath be kindled against me if I try once more, seeking a sign in the fleece. I pray that the fleece only may be dry, and all the ground wet with dew.
⁴⁰é銝憭予銝饼é蹱见雿靝º¼?鳝å鳝蝢¯糓銋晔¼??滚éæ糓é蠧瘗氩	⁴⁰And God did that night as he had requested: and it was dry on the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
