| 8æ劐¸甈∴¼?䔿璅寡¦绦软衤¸璅宁隞硋页¼?停撠齿©¬邦隤迎¼期«衤½½穃页¼ | 8The trees went to anoint a king over them: and they said to the olive tree: Reign thou over us. |
| 9璈¬邦å䂿磰牧嚗纸荦ç鍂æ朱靘蝳桃¥¼?°´荦嚗?é刊¦烐琏瘝对¼??绦æ硋銁ç䔿璅嫣¹衤¸¼ | 9And it answered: Can I leave my fatness, which both gods and men make use of, to come to be promoted among the trees? |
| 10ç䔿璅孵?°滨è?æ邦隤迎¼期«衤½¾½穃页¼ | 10And the trees said to the fig tree: Come thou and reign over us. |
| 11çè?æ邦å䂿磰牧嚗é刊¦烐崖æ㗇条?¾举頣¼??绦æ硋銁ç䔿璅嫣¹衤¸¼ | 11And it answered them: Can I leave my sweetness, and my delicious fruits, and go to be promoted among the other trees? |
| 12ç䔿璅孵?°滩鸡è邦隤迎¼期«衤½¾½穃页¼ | 12And the trees said to the vine: Come thou and reign over us. |
| 13è鸡è邦撠勖䂿磰牧嚗鳘é 埝¨¥硺荦嚗?é刊¦烐琏ç嚗??绦æ硋銁ç䔿璅嫣¹衤¸¼ | 13And it answered them: Can I forsake my wine, that cheereth God and men, and be promoted among the other trees? |
| 14æ䲰æ糓ç䔿璅孵°滩£䁅牧嚗期«衤½¾½穃页¼ | 14And all the trees said to the bramble: Come thou and reign over us. |
| 15è£睃°齿邦æ銁蝑娪橒¼期雿惩罚¡条«睲½靝½惩页¼?¾菱嚗熔å銁æ銝页¼炏å¼?敹¾噼£睃鍦嚗?墧» 暺毁憳©ç¦蹱銁ã | 15And it answered them: If indeed you mean to make me king, come ye and rest under my shadow: but if you mean it not, let fire come out from the bramble, and devour the cedars of Libanus. |

| 18çè?½惩睲»å㭱靘滚°齿?阆芰振æ¼?銁銝憛羓é銝捏鈭» 鍦¸荦嚗?«衤»硋岷憟喟 鍦é燵敶潮»䁅见耻çè齿觅å瘗页¼?删隞糓雿惩¼笔 â | 18And you are now risen up against my father's house, and have killed his sons seventy men upon one stone, and have made Abimelech the son of his handmaid king over the inhabitants of Sichem, because he is your brother: |
| 19隞予愦靝½惩ª滨隞亦蠘ª䭾迤ç凒撠滚¾ºè园陌撌渲³å?»振æ¼?暻潘¼?½惩穃停å é燵敶潮»䁅见耻è?¨菱嚗¸?»碶¹笔½惩?¨¼ | 19If therefore you have dealt well, and without fault with Jerobaal, and his house, rejoice ye this day in Abimelech, and may he rejoice in you. |
| 20銝滨嚗?¡条驱é燵敶潮»䁅见耻ç䔄å嚗?墧» è齿觅ç瘗穃鞎萘鹱蝐喟¾ 嚗¹罚¡条驱è齿觅ç瘗穃鞎萘鹱蝐喟¾ ç䔄å嚗?墧» é燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗 | 20But if unjustly: let fire come out from him, and consume the inhabitants of Sichem, and the town of Mello: and let fire come out from the men of Sichem, and from the town of Mello, and devour Abimelech. |
| 21隞亘¾蝝 å韏堆¼??鞎萘?å绦鈭¼?½誩銁é鋆∴¼?隞åé燵敶潮»䁅见耻ã | 21And when he had said thus he fled, and went into Bera: and dwelt there for fear of Abimelech his brother. |

| 23憭拐蜓雿踵蟡鲉滚銁é燵敶潮»䁅见耻åè齿觅å瘗睲叶é橒¼è齿觅ç瘗睲噶è?ºé燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗 | 23And the Lord sent a very evil spirit between Abimelech and the inhabitants of Sichem: who began to detest him, |
| 24阆驱拙°è园陌撌渲³銝见 鍦鞟蔽銵?¼?°»硋¡甇豢䲰隞硋 ¼é燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗?删æ糓隞捏摰喃º»硋¼¹飞æ䲰è齿觅ç瘗¼?删隞硋烐㦛曌枏䠀隞捏摰唾撌梁 ¼麄 | 24And to leave the crime of the murder of the seventy sons of Jerobaal, and the shedding of their blood upon Abimelech their brother, and upon the rest of the princes of the Sichemites, who aided him. |
| 25è齿觅å瘗å齿»吔¼?停å銁撅梢 ¸身銝衤¼誩嚗?阔æ䭾æ㕑楝é»硋煾鋆∠荦嚗劐荦撠嗘º见å羓策é燵敶潮»䁅见耻ã | 25And they set an ambush against him on the top of the mountains: and while they waited for his coming, they committed robberies, taking spoils of all that passed by: and it was told Abimelech. |
| 26éæå²嘥¾ç 鍦å燵è³å?»硋?雠荦é驱坔?è齿觅嚗è齿觅ç±°«煺缣隞台º»吔¼ | 26And Gaal the son of Obed came with his brethren, and went over to Sichem. And the inhabitants of Sichem taking courage at his coming, |
| 27隞硋睲噶å?ç视éè鸡è¼?成é ¼?蟡脲¼??隞硋¥䞶»蠘ㄐå??嘅¼?¹笔垍葱鈭é燵敶潮»䁅见耻ã | 27Went out into the fields, wasting the vineyards, and treading down the grapes: and singing and dancing they went into the temple of their god, and in their banquets and cups they cursed Abimelech. |
| 28å²嘥¾ç 鍦å燵è³隤迎¼é燵敶潮»䁅见耻æ糓隤堆¼?穃è齿觅鈭箸糓隤堆¼?穃«蠘府æ滢º衤»吔¼蠘±?¸齿糓è园陌撌渲³ç 鍦?®睃摱å郊è³嚗?府æ滢ºè齿觅ç§讠¥å?ç?ç¾?荦å¼穃隞暻潸¦滢ºé燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗 | 28And Gaal the son of Obed cried: Who is Abimelech, and what is Sichem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerobaal, and hath made Zebul his servant ruler over the men of Emor the father of Sichem? Why then shall we serve him? |
| 29æ銝滚¾烾嗵参憪㮖漱æ䲰æ烐衤叶嚗?末æé燵敶潮»䁅见耻é膄æ剹¦°é燵敶潮»䁅见耻隤迎¼¢墧晷雿删»漤驱菱嚗 | 29Would to God that some man would put this people under my hand, that I might remove Abimelech out of the way. And it was said to Abimelech: Gather together the multitude of an army, and come. |
| 30å郊è³å°㕑å?å²嘥¾ç 鍦å燵è³ç店嚗?之ç䔄敹踵¼ | 30For Zebul the ruler of the city, hearing the words of Gaal, the son of Obed, was very angry, |
| 31é梶䔄雿辑绦阆见銁é燵擳舐麐çé燵敶潮»䁅见耻隤迎¼?页¼å²嘥¾ç 鍦å燵è³å?»?譍荦嚗?¾?è齿觅嚗?穃å滚½ | 31And sent messengers privately to Abimelech, saying: Behold Gaal the son of Obed is come into Sichem with his brethren, and endeavoureth to set the city against thee. |
| 32æ隞亦å銁雿惩?·罚辶雿删荦憭ㄐ阆丝靘¼?衤¼誩銁ç视é橒¼ | 32Arise therefore in the night with the people that is with thee and he hid in the field: |
| 33æ予ææ膥憭芷蒾銝å靘¼?停æå汿訜隞硋?辶驱硺»荦å靘æ½䭾¼?½删讠举见憟踝¼?停æ举见撠滢»䀝»硔 | 33And betimes in the morning at sun rising set upon the city. And when he shall come out against thee with his people, do to him what thou shalt be able. |
| 34é燵敶潮»䁅见耻é?æ㕑·罚辶隞荦憭刊丝頨恬¼?½偦¼?°滩è齿觅閮凋¸见衤¼讹 | 34Abimelech therefore arose with all his army by night, and laid ambushes near Sichem in four places. |
| 35ç訜å²嘥¾ç 鍦å燵è³å靘¼?«坔銁åå藁æ¼é燵敶潮»䁅见耻靘辑辶驱硺»荦驱䞶衤¼雠æ䲮å靘¼ | 35And Gaal the son of Obed went out, and stood in the entrance of the gate of the city. And Abimelech rose up, and all his army with him from the places of the ambushes. |
| 36å燵è³銝阆钅嗘º荦撠勖°å郊è³隤迎¼?页¼?劐荦驱䞶控é ¸衤¾¼å郊è³å䂿»牧嚗?½删贝¦见控敶梧¼?炊隞亦æ糓鈭绰¼ | 36And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul: Behold a multitude cometh down from the mountains. And he answered him: Thou seest the shadows of the mountains as if they were the heads of men, and this is thy mistake. |
| 37å燵è³æè堒?牧嚗?页¼?劐荦驱鲉«睃å靘¼??劐¸é窒撌怠ㄚ璈⊥邦é㮖¸滢¾ | 37Again Gaal said: Behold there cometh people down from the middle of the land, and one troop cometh by the way that looketh towards the oak. |
| 38å郊è³撠滢»牧嚗å銁雿删藁å銁é鋆∴¼煺¸齿糓雿䭾㦛隤芷¼é燵敶潮»䁅见耻æ糓隤堆¼?¦穃烐滢º衤»吔¼罚嗘¸齿糓雿䭾頛閗¦荦å¼毺å銁隢衤½惩å绦ææ㮖»菱嚗 | 38And Zebul said to him: Where is now thy mouth wherewith thou saidst? Who is Abimelech that we should serve him? Is not this the people which thou didst despise? Go out, and fight against him. |
| 39å燵è³撠勖銁è齿觅å瘗睲¹见滚å绦嚗?æé燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗 | 39So Gaal went out in the sight of the people of Sichem, and fought against Abimelech, |
| 40å虾æ糓é燵敶潮»䁅见耻銝餈卖»吔¼?»硋停å銁隞㚚å漤·睲º¼凒å?åæ㕑迂憭鈭∠荦ã | 40Who chased and put him to flight, and drove him to the city: and many were slain of his people, even to the gate of the city: |
| 41隞亘¾é燵敶潮»䁅见耻å䞶?é燵擳舐麐嚗å郊è³撠å燵è³å?»?譍荦頞閗粥嚗?¦迫隞硋睲½誩銁è齿觅ã | 41And Abimelech sat down in Ruma: but Zebul drove Gaal, and his companions out of the city, and would not suffer them to abide in it. |
| 42蝚砌º?予ææ膥嚗?荦瘗穃?ç视é馆ㄐå绦嚗?劐荦å迄鈭é燵敶潮»䁅见耻嚗 | 42So the day following the people went out into the field. And it was told Abimelech. |
| 43隞䲰æ糓æ撌梁荦å½靝¸厂¼?㙈隞硋穃衤¼誩銁ç视é橒¼»撌梁的æ¼?訜隞贝¦讠参憪枏¾䞶馆ㄐå靘¼?停銵嗪绦嚗?捏鈭»硋¼ | 43And he took his army, and divided it into three companies, and laid ambushes in the fields. And seeing that the people came out of the city, he arose and set upon them, |
| 44ç訜æé燵敶潮»䁅见耻è·罚辶隞»漤¡嗪绦嚗?½誩å藁嚗??åé¡嘥视é梶䔿鈭绰¼?捏鈭»硋㻫 | 44With his own company, assaulting and besieging the city: whilst the two other companies chased the enemies that were scattered about the field. |
| 45é銝憭抬¼é燵敶潮»䁅见耻æ㟲憭拇æ㯄å¼?举銝页¼?捏鈭叶ç±°¼?举¯嚗?雴¸厌ã | 45And Abimelech assaulted the city all that day: and took it, and killed the inhabitants thereof, and demolished it, so that he sowed salt in it. |
| 46è齿觅蝣匧岁鋆∠荦è阆迨鈭页¼?停頨唇?撌渲唾²嗪»鹱撱蠘ㄐç蝛渲ㄐã | 46And when they who dwelt in the tower of Sichem had heard this, they went into the temple of their god Berith where they had made a covenant with him, and from thence the place had taken its name, and it was exceeding strong. |

| 48é燵敶潮»䁅见耻æ贝ㄐæ嚉è¸æ鑘é嚗? 滢º¸æ觅璅寞嘅¼?嚉韏瑚¾å銁è銝¼?驱?·罚辶隞荦隤迎¼?½惩睲½靝»暻潘¼?½惩睲¹蠘¶訫翰ç璅?绦雿頣¼ | 48Went up into mount Selmon he and all his people with him: and taking an axe, he cut down the bough of a tree, and laying it on his shoulder and carrying it, he said to his companions: What you see me do, do you out of hand. |

And surrounding the fort they set it on fire: and so it came to pass that with the smoke and with the fire a thousand persons were killed, men and women together, of the inhabitants of the tower of Sichem. |

| 51å銁éå叶æ劐¸摨批 ç¢匧岁嚗?府å举æ厩瘗¼?琸ç琸憟喳戊é頝穃?é鋆∟熔é嚗?靝¸嚗?¸?蝣匧岁é ¸ | 51And there was in the midst of the city a high tower, to which both the men and the women were fled together, and all the princes of the city, and having shut and strongly barred the gate, they stood upon the battlements of the tower to defend themselves. |
| 52é燵敶潮»䁅见耻靘?蝣匧岁å齿æ橒¼訜隞粥餈¢匧岁éå藁嚗?¦çç埝¼ | 52And Abimelech coming near the tower, fought stoutly: and approaching to the gate, endeavoured to set fire to it: |
| 53æ劐¸å见岫鈭箸衤¸衤º¸憛羓ㄗç嚗?迤è氜å銁é燵敶潮»䁅见耻é銝¼?梶¢º»è钅爸ã | 53And behold a certain woman casting a piece of a millstone from above, dashed it against the head of Abimelech, and broke his skull. |
| 54隞亘¿坔㙈æ隞硋嘑æ毺°穃侨嚗?睲»牧嚗?雿删畾箔º菱嚗 滚¾荦雓«牧嚗纸¸å见戊摮鼗捏鈭»吔¼漤撠穃侨撠梁鍂åå?甇台º»硔 | 54And he called hastily to his armourbearer, and said to him: Draw thy sword, and kill me: lest it should be said that I was slain by a woman. He did as he was commanded, and slew him. |
| 55隞亥å鈭箔¸阆é燵敶潮»䁅见耻甇台º¼?硺º摰呜 | 55And when he was dead, all the men of Israel that were with him, returned to their homes. |
| 56æ䲰æ糓憭拐蜓å驱拐ºé燵敶潮»䁅见耻撠滢»?阆芣銵?鈭页¼?删隞捏鈭撌梁¸见 ¼¼ | 56And God repaid the evil, that Abimelech had done against his father, killing his seventy brethren. |
| 57銝虫¸予銝台¹è齿觅鈭个¸å銵?飞å銁隞硋撌梁銝¼蹱见è园陌撌渲³ç 鍦蝝 穼?¹厂©堒銁隞硋澈銝 | 57The Sichemites also were rewarded for what they had done, and the curse of Joatham the son of Jerobaal came upon them. |
