| 5ç訜é燵摮摮鼗°穃隞亥å鈭斗?ç辷¼å抅è钅燵驱çè?æ睃¸åæ䲮å绦隢靘嘥¼堒之å硺¾ | 5And as they pressed hard upon them, the ancients of Galaad went to fetch Jephte out of the land of Tob to help them: |
| 6隞硋穃靘嘥¼堒之隤迎¼?«衤½¾½穃绞掸伐¼?æé燵摮摮鼗°㻫 | 6And they said to him: Come thou and be our prince, and fight against the children of Ammon. |
| 7靘嘥¼堒之å䂿å抅è钅燵驱çè牧嚗?½惩睲¸齿糓ææ¼?°煾æ?摰冢¼毺å銁雿惩煾é嚗?隞暻洁¾æ¼麄 | 7And he answered them: Are not you the men that hated me, and cast me out of my father's house, and now you are come to me constrained by necessity? |
| 8å抅è钅燵驱çè°靘嘥¼堒之隤迎¼?穃å銁靘雿䭾迤æ糓ç甇扎«衤½惩?穃睲¸å?䞶绦嚗?æé燵摮摮鼗°¼?½穃¼?½å抅è钅燵驱ææ匧±°¦㚚 盐 | 8And the princes of Galaad said to Jephte: For this cause we are now come to thee, that thou mayst go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be head over all the inhabitants of Galaad. |
| 9靘嘥¼堒之撠å抅è钅燵驱çè牧嚗?½惩煾 䀹穃䞶绦嚗?é燵摮摮鼗°睲½?嚗?¦靝¸蜓撠»硋睲漱蝯行¼?暻潭穃停雿靝½惩¦㚚 矋¼ | 9Jephte also said to them: If you be come to me sincerely, that I should fight for you against the children of Ammon, and the Lord shall deliver them into my band, shall I be your prince? |
| 10å抅è钅燵驱çè°靘嘥¼堒之隤迎¼?¸蜓å銁æ穃睲叶é㮖½㚁¼穃穃¿雿删店撖西¡? | 10They answered him: The Lord who heareth these things, he himself is mediator and witness that we will do as we have promised. |
| 11靘嘥¼堒之撠梯å抅è钅燵驱çè¸å?䞶绦嚗?参憪梶«衤»硋纸»硋¦㚚 睃?绞掸伐¼靘嘥¼堒之å銁蝐唾篬掸嚗?銁銝蜓éå㵪¼??»㚚嗘¸å店é䒰餈唬º¸é溻 | 11Jephte therefore went with the princes of Galaad, and all the people made him their prince. And Jephte spoke all his words before the Lord in Maspha. |
| 12靘嘥¼堒之撠望晷雿辑?é燵摮摮鼗°钅鋆∟牧嚗?½㰘睲½訫仆嚗毺«煺¾煾体ㄐææ笔嚗麄 | 12And he sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, to say in his name, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me, to waste my land? |
| 13é燵摮摮鼗°见°靘嘥¼堒之ç蝙è牧嚗?删隞亥å驱å銝¾辷¼?噩雿º 睃¼?¾é燵ç?颲²瘝喳?é郭å 瘝喉¼?凒å?蝝½瘝喉¼å銁雿䭾匧?像鈭日¼ | 13And he answered them: I Because Israel took away my land when he came up out of Egypt, from the confines of the Arnon unto the Jaboc and the Jordan: now therefore restore the same peaceably to me. |
| 14靘嘥¼堒之å齿梶䔄雿辑绦阆é燵摮摮鼗°页¼ | 14And Jephte again sent word by them, and commanded them to say to the king of Ammon: |
| 15撠滢»牧嚗靘嘥¼堒之é蹱见隤迎¼隞亥å銝行²埝劐噩雿æé燵掸ç笔åé燵摮摮鼗°笔嚗 | 15Thus saith Jephte: Israel did not take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon: |
| 16å删隞亥å驱å銝¾辷¼?糓蝬㯄举¼??鈭蝝丝嚗??¾?å㨃驱瑕ㄚã | 16But when they came up out of Egypt, he walked through the desert to the Red Sea and came into Cades. |
| 17隞亥åæ㦛瘣历蝙è°åç贝牧嚗期«贝®穃¶㯄½删 睃¼½糓åç衤¸滩蝑娍㚁¼?梶䔄雿辑?æé燵掸ç钅鋆∴¼?½糓隞碶¹煺¸滩嚗䲰æ糓隞亥å靘输㛖坔銁å㨃驱瑕ㄚã | 17And he sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying: Suffer me to pass through thy land. But he would not condescend to his request. He sent also to the king of Moab, who likewise refused to give him passage. He abode therefore in Cades, |
| 18隞亘¾?»硋¶㯄举¼?¹鲉åååæé燵掸å嚗?¾æé燵掸æéè?¡?¼?銁é燵ç?颲²瘝哟é®厩¼»硋睲蒂瘝埝厂唇æé燵掸ç¢?¼?删é燵ç?颲²æ糓æé燵掸ç羓? | 18And went round the land of Edom at the side, and the land of Moab: and came over against the east coast of the land of Moab, and camped on the other side of the Arnon: and he would not enter the bounds of Moab. |
| 19隞亥åå?晷雿辑?é燵æ暺çæ蝝 嚗?朗韏怠¸ç钅鋆∴¼隞亥åå睲»牧嚗期«贝®穃¶㯄½删 睃¼??æ穃æ䲮å绦ã | 19So Israel sent messengers to Sehon king of the Amorrhites, who dwelt in Hesebon, and they said to him: Suffer me to pass through thy land to the river. |
| 20çèæ蝝 銝滢缣隞»隞亥å嚗?¸滚»硋¶㯄»¢?¼蒂銝æ蝝 é黿厩荦瘗¼?銁é?篬摰厩¼?隞亥å鈭斗?ã | 20But he also despising the words of Israel, suffered him not to pass through his borders: but gathering an infinite multitude, went out against him to Jasa, and made strong opposition. |
| 21雿糓銝蜓隞亥åç予銝饺°æ蝝 å»硋擃参憪㮖漱æ䲰隞亥åæ衤叶嚗?捏鈭»硋¼䲰æ糓隞亥å靘踹硋¾½誩銁éåçé燵æ暺鈭箸æ厩笔嚗 | 21And the Lord delivered him with all his army into the hands of Israel, and he slew him, and possessed all the land of the Amorrhite the inhabitant of that country, |
| 22å硋¾é燵æ暺鈭绰¼?¾é燵ç?颲²瘝喳?é郭å 瘝喉¼?¾墧?蝝½瘝单æ厩笔ã | 22And all the coasts thereof from the Arnon to the Jaboc, and from the wilderness to the Jordan. |
| 23ç隞¸蜓隞亥åç予銝鸣¼?眏è撌梁参憪隞亥åéå漤©ºé燵æ暺鈭绰¼?é㮖½¦½娍坔å¼ | 23So the Lord the God of Israel destroyed the Amorrhite, his people of Israel fighting against him, and wilt thou now possess this land? |
| 24雿㰘±?¸齿糓æ劐½娍纸½删¥é仪æ憯«鞈靝½½娪 条嚗??穃烐劐½娍穃予銝台¸蜓嚗?眏æ穃穃齿撽¹衤荦çå¼ | 24Are not those things which thy god Chamos possesseth, due to thee by right? But what the Lord our God hath obtained by conquest, shall be our possession: |
| 25çå銁嚗?é㮖½䭾¯æé燵掸ç瞍 㛖?ç 鍦撌湔匧 é拨暻潘¼煺»碶½闹㦛è隞亥åç?擛仿¼?»硋睲漱é举?嚗 | 25Unless perhaps thou art better than Balac the son of Sephor king of Moab: or canst shew that he strove against Israel and fought against him, |
| 26隞亥å雿誩銁韏怠¸åé¿烐煾绁嚗é燵瘣?åé¿烐煾绁嚗é燵ç?颲²瘝单窒撗佼绁鋆∴¼?歇æ劐¸厩参挢港¹衤¹¼?隞暻浇銁é蹱罚橒¼?½惩烐²埝㗇å䞶嚗 | 26Whereas he hath dwelt in Hesebon, and the villages thereof, and in Aroer, and its villages, and in all the cities near the Jordan, for three hundred years. Why have you for so long a time attempted nothing about this claim? |
| 27æ隞交睲蒂瘝埝匧¾㛖蔽雿¼??½删«蠘¦惩拿æ¼?睲漱æ?嚗偦¡䁅£ếè¸蜓隞予å銁隞亥å摮鼗°é燵摮摮鼗°睲叶é枏ếææ糓é¼ | 27Therefore I do not trespass against thee, but thou wrongest me by declaring an unjust war against me. The Lord be judge and decide this day between Israel and the children of Ammon. |
| 28雿糓é燵摮摮鼗°衤¸滩è驱靘嘥¼堒之å睲»硋åç嗘º店ã | 28And the king of the children of Ammon would not hearken to the words of Jephte, which he sent him by the messengers. |
| 29鿏蜓ç¥鲉齿䲰靘嘥¼堒之頨思¸¼?»硋停韏圈å抅è钅燵驱å暺条´滚嚗?¾?å抅è钅燵驱ç蝐唾篬掸嚗??¾å抅è钅燵驱ç蝐唾篬掸嚗??鈭é燵摮摮鼗°煾鋆~ | 29Therefore the spirit of the Lord came upon Jephte, and going round Galaad, and Manasses, and Maspha of Galaad, and passing over from thence to the children of Ammon, |
| 30靘嘥¼堒之å睲¸蜓閮梢¡䁅牧嚗?雿䭾é燵摮摮鼗°睲漱æ䲰æ烐衤叶嚗 | 30He made a vow to the Lord, saying: If thou wilt deliver the children of Ammon into my hands, |
| 31ç訜æ眏é燵摮摮鼗°煾鋆∪像摰匧硺¾¼?¸滩«狐ç眏æ穃振éåå靘¿举æ¼?狐撠望㗇飞銝蜓嚗?¦»㭱雿ç平ã | 31Whosoever shall first come forth out of the doors of my house, and shall meet me when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, the same will I offer a holocaust to the Lord. |
| 32æ䲰æ糓靘嘥¼堒之å?é燵摮摮鼗°煾鋆∟»硋睲漱æ?嚗?¸蜓æ»硋睲漱å銁隞衤叶嚗 | 32And Jephte passed over to the children of Ammon, to fight against them: and the Lord delivered them into his hands. |
| 33æ䲰æ糓隞硋¾é燵瘣?æ捏隞硋凒å?蝐喳侧ç鹱嚗?凒å?é燵鞎肽哟仪颲?嚗?鈭?涟å¼?秘å銁æ糓銝å聦憭扯萧æ?嚗䲰æ糓é燵摮摮鼗°穃銁隞亥å摮鼗°穃滚±?滢º | 33And he smote them from Aroer till you come to Mennith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel, which is set with vineyards, with a very great slaughter: and the children of Ammon were humbled by the children of Israel. |
| 34靘嘥¼堒之å䞶?蝐唾篬掸è撌勖振銝剜¼?页¼?»戊å 鍦靘¼?¼刊岁è䞶滢¾¿举隞硔旦æ糓靘嘥¼堒之ç崖ç笔戊嚗?膄憟嫣诳憭吔¼?²埝匧ç戊ã | 34And when Jephte returned into Maspha to his house, his only daughter met him with timbrels and with dances: for he had no other children. |
| 35ç訜靘嘥¼堒之銝阆衤º旦嚗?停æ閧聦銵?滩牧嚗?嚗戊å ¼?½删煺蝙æ㜃æ嚗?云å㙈æ睲½鈭¼删æ穃°滢¸蜓é钅藁銝滩æå | 35And when he saw her, he rent his garments, and said: Alas! my daughter, thou hast deceived me, and thou thyself art deceived: for I have opened my mouth to the Lord, and I can do no other thing. |
| 36憟孵䂿»牧嚗??阆迎¼?½䭾ç撠滢¸蜓é钅藁嚗?停ç雿㰘牧åç°滚¾菱嚗删銝蜓撌唇°滢½删訽鈭ºé燵摮摮鼗°¼?雿惩鈭» | 36And she answered him: My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth to the Lord, do unto me whatsoever thou hast promised, since the victory hath been granted to thee, and revenge of thy enemies. |
| 37憟孵??阆芾牧嚗?«衤½㰘迂æ睲¸隞嗡º页¼策æ穃å?罚琜¼?®捞靘嗅?撅曹¸绦嚗?å揑æ咱鞎 | 37And she said to her father: Grant me only this which I desire: Let me go, that I may go about the mountains for two months, and may bewail my virginity with my companions. |
| 38隞娍㕑牧嚗?½惩绦蝵瘀¼滚停霈枏旦éå绦åå?瓐旦撠勖绦鈭¼?旦ç捞靘嗅銁撅曹¸å揑è撌梁咱鞎 | 38And he answered her: Go. And he sent her away for two months. And when she was gone with her comrades and companions, she mourned her virginity in the mountains. |
| 39éºå?¼?旦å䞶?ç?阆芷鋆∴¼??阆芸停å銁憟寡澈銝º閮梁¡矋¼旦é²埝㕑ª滩条琸摮僐䲰æ糓å銁隞亥åæ鞟銝蝔桅◢靽槟¼ | 39And the two months being expired, she returned to her father, and he did to her as he had vowed, and she knew no man. From thence came a fashion in Israel, and a custom has been kept: |
| 40瘥誩侨隞亥å撠穃戊阆撘å抅è钅燵驱鈭º靘嘥¼堒之ç戊å ¼?¸挢游予ã | 40That from year to year the daughters of Israel assemble together, and lament the daughter of Jephte the Galaadite for four days. |
