¹é蹱糓銝蜓çè©烾鈭¸齿匧¾摰Ｙ´滨½銝å?鈭讠隞亥å鈭绰¼?ç嗘¸讠°烐¼	¹These are the nations which the Lord left, that by them he might instruct Israel, and all that had not known the wars of the Chanaanites:
²å㙈隞亥å摮鼗°¾?诲嚗?撠煾鈭诳å滢¸齿匧¾烾嗘º?鈭讠荦嚗?䰻é枏?飞蝧雴½?ã	²That afterwards their children might learn to fight with their enemies, and to be trained up to war:
³é嗘º°烐誩停æ糓å畺è贝滨鹱鈭个º钅钅嚗?¸å摰Ｙ´滨½鈭箝瞍鈭筝?½誩銁暺毁憳©撅曹¸¼?朗驱撌渲唾笋ç?摮撅梁凒å?å?麐ç鹱é藁ç掸?¨鈭箝	³The five princes of the Philistines, and all the Chanaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hevites that dwelt in mount Libanus, from mount Baal Hermon to the entering into Emath.
⁴隞硋坔銁é鋆⊥糓çè©隞亥å鈭绰¼?衤»硋烐糓å炏è驱硺¸蜓è璇åå»硋¥硋?鈭炕åã	⁴And he left them, that he might try Israel by them, whether they would hear the commandments of the Lord, which he had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses, or not.
⁵隞亥å摮鼗°穃停雿誩銁摰Ｙ´滨½鈭箝韏怎鹱鈭箝é燵æ暺鈭箝å畺暺½鈭箝掸?¨鈭筝è呛郊æ鱻鈭箔叶é橒¼	⁵So the children of Israel dwelt in the midst of the Chanaanite, and the Hethite, and the Amorrhite, and the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite:
⁶软毺憡嗡º»硋戊摮鞟愦鸣¼?¹撌梁戊å鍦«策隞硋鍦琜¼?º见¥劐º»硋¥	⁶And they took their daughters to wives, and they gave their own daughters to their sons, and they served their gods.
⁷隞亥å摮鼗°¡?º¸蜓阆æçº页¼?¿睃㭱鈭¸蜓隞硋予銝鸣¼??º见¥劐º撌渲³隢貊¥䞶é燵è滩麾隢佼戊蟡¼	⁷And they did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they forgot their God, and served Baalim and Astaroth.
⁸å䭾迨銝蜓撠隞亥å憭抒䔄敹踵¼?°»硋睲漱å銁åçé»举²坔¡娍捕æ衤叶嚗隞亥å摮鼗°煾滢º衤ºé»举²坔¡娍捕å挢氩	⁸And the Lord being angry with Israel, delivered them into the hands of Chusan Rasathaim king of Mesopotamia, and they served him eight years.
⁹ç訜隞亥å摮鼗°穃睲¸蜓å鐤蝐脱¼?¸蜓蝯¦隞亥å摮鼗°?丝鈭¸å墙æ睲»硋烐¼?朗å㰘见¸ç¼笔¼å?蝝齿活ç鍦æ鹱撠潸³ã	⁹And they cried to the Lord, who raised them up a saviour, and delivered them, to wit, Othoniel the son of Cenez, the younger brother of Caleb:
¹⁰銝蜓ç¥鲉滚銁隞澈銝¼?»碶½靝º隞亥åç°煾嚗?å绦雿?嚗¸蜓æåçé»举²坔¡娍捕鈭文銁隞衤叶嚗?»å嗪ºé»举²坔¡娍捕ã	¹⁰And the spirit of the Lord was in him, and he judged Israel. And he went out to fight, and the Lord delivered into his hands Chusan Rasathaim king of Syria, and he overthrew him.
¹¹æ䲰æ糓å¢像摰劐º侨ã	¹¹And the land rested forty years, and Othoniel the son of Cenez died.
¹²隞亥å摮鼗°穃?¡?º¸蜓阆æçº页¼?¸蜓撠勖拨åæé燵掸çå仪éå绦æ隞亥å嚗?删隞硋¡?º¸蜓阆æçº卝	¹²And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: who strengthened against them Eglon king of Moab: because they did evil in his sight.
¹³隞å?ºé燵摮摮鼗°穃é燵ç麐è见鈭绰¼?滢¾隞亥å嚗?½娍纸º£闹邦å¼	¹³And he joined to him the children of Ammon, and Amalec: and he went and overthrew Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.
¹⁴隞亥åé滢º衤ºæé燵掸çå仪éå挢氩	¹⁴And the children of Israel served Eglon king of Moab eighteen years:
¹⁵ç訜隞亥å摮鼗°穃睲¸蜓å鐤蝐脱¼?¸蜓蝯虫»硋?丝鈭¸雿齿墙æ¼?停æ糓æé鈭ºé仪颲£ç鍦å驱嚗?»糓撌血æ贝åç鍂ç荦嚗隞亥å摮鼗°睲噶瘣历»策æé燵掸çå仪éç㭱鞎Ｙ?ã	¹⁵And afterwards they cried to the Lord, who raised them up a saviour called Aod, the son of Gera, the son of Jemini, who used the left hand as well as the right. And the children of Israel sent presents to Eglon king of Moab by him.
¹⁶å驱é 嗘º¸æ¸è㗛ç坔嚗?鍦銁åè銵?滚º蓥¸页¼	¹⁶And he made himself a two-edged sword, with a haft in the midst of the length of the palm of the hand, and was girded therewith under his garment on the right thigh.
¹⁷靘?æé燵掸çå仪éå滨㭱鞎Ｙ?ââå仪éå糓å扔èè荦ã	¹⁷And he presented the gifts to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was exceeding fat.
¹⁸ç㭱摰?甜ç?隞亘¾?¼?停æ䠋鞎Ｙ?ç荦æ梶䔄韏堆¼	¹⁸And when he had presented the gifts unto him, he followed his companions that came along with him.
¹⁹è撌勖㭱ç眏å抅è喳㰘³æå誯鋆⊿å¼?牧嚗?见嚗烐㗇©笔¯º贝¦°滢½㰘牧ã滨贝牧嚗?銝页¼齿䲰æ糓靘滨«见椰åç荦ééå绦ã	¹⁹Then returning from Galgal, where the idols were, be said to the king: I have a secret message to thee, O king. And he commanded silence: and all being gone out that were about him,
²⁰å驱靘?隞·笔㵪¼?»迤ç崖èå銁瘨浇蝱銝羓?摮鞱ㄐ嚗å驱隤迎¼?烐厩¥噼垠å迄雿¼滨见停驱噼撌梁涟雿滢¸丝软页¼	²⁰Aod went in to him: now he was sitting in a summer parlour alone, and he said: I have a word from God to thee. And he forthwith rose up from his throne,
²¹å驱é挠撌行见¾䞶è銝å靘¼??å隞é嚗	²¹And Aod put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly,
²²æ?éå?鈭唇绦嚗?é½譍º摮琜¼?»²埝匧¾噼鞱ㄐææå靘¼	²²With such force that the haft went in after the blade into the wound, and was closed up with the abundance of fat. So that he did not draw out the dagger, but left it in his body as he had struck it in. And forthwith by the secret parts of nature the excrements of the belly came out.
²³å驱å靘?鈭粥撱¼?饮å蝱銝羓é靝¸¼?¸º硔	²³But Aod carefully shutting the doors of the parlour and locking them,
²⁴隞硋å绦銋见¾?¼?贝å滢¾¼?贝¦饮å蝱ç?éé槟¼?停隤迎¼?»碶¸摰銁瘨浇蝱銝羓摰方ㄐ靘踵荦ã	²⁴Went out by a postern door. And the king's servants going in, saw the doors of the parlour shut, and they said: Perhaps he is easing nature in his summer parlour.
²⁵驱»硋厩鈭¼?贝¦²埝劐荦靘饮å蝱銝羓嚗?»硋穃停æ嚉é曲å蹱é衤º¼?¦衤»硋蜓摮鞱荦å銁å銝香鈭	²⁵And waiting a long time till they were ashamed, and seeing that no man opened the door, they took a key: and opening, they found their lord lying dead on the ground.
²⁶å銁隞硋薗鞊怎辷¼å驱撌修¶㯄粥嚗?¹鲉举å¼??¾è靘肽麾ã	²⁶But Aod, while they were in confusion, escaped, and passed by the place of the idols, from whence he had returned. And he came to Seirath:
²⁷隞硋?鈭鋆∴¼?停å銁å¼麾å 撅勖åè蠘§¼隞亥å摮鼗°穃停å?»眏撅勖銝衤¾¼?»硋銁隞硋穃漤嚗	²⁷And forthwith he sounded the trumpet in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel went down with him, he himself going in the front.
²⁸撠滢»硋牧嚗?½惩··蠘埈¼?删銝蜓æ½惩»訽æé燵掸鈭筝歇鈭斗䲰雿惩烐衤叶嚗滢»硋煾·煺»碶¸见绦嚗?½娍纸ºæé燵掸撠漤ç蝝½瘝单腹å藁嚗?¸滩迂銝鈭箸腹é汿	²⁸And he said to them: Follow me: for the Lord hath delivered our enemies the Moabites into our hands. And they went down after him, and seized upon the fords of the Jordan, which are in the way to Moab: and they suffered no man to pass over.
²⁹撠勖銁éå辷¼?»硋烐捏鈭æé燵掸鈭个´劐¸è嚗?æ糓憯臭¸?憯恬¼?²埝劐¸å衤荦éã	²⁹But they slew of the Moabites at that time, about ten thousand, all strong and Valiant men: none of them could escape.
³⁰驱鲉憭抵丝嚗æé燵掸撅?齿䲰隞亥åæ衤¸页¼¢挢喳®劐ºå侨ã	³⁰And Moab was humbled that day under the hand of Israel: and the land rested eighty years.
³¹å銁隞碶诳驱?¼?é燵蝝滨鹱ç鍦瘝䠷»睃删?嚗?»碶诳頞閧£埝捏鈭ç参å畺è贝滨鹱鈭绰¼?墙æ睲º隞亥åã	³¹After him was Samgar the son of Anath, who slew of the Philistines six hundred men with a ploughshare: and he also defended Israel.
