| 3æé摮重銋蠘隤ª隞亥å摮鼗°穃?鈭蝐唾篬掸ã隞亥å摮鼗°牧嚗?嗘辣æ鈭糓æ举见ç䔄ç毺¼?«衤½惩腻隤芯¸é㵪¼ | 3(Nor were the children of Benjamin ignorant that the children of Israel were come up to Maspha.) And the Levite the husband of the woman that was killed, being asked, how so great a wickedness had been committed, |

| 5å抅鞎苷ºç瘗丝靘æ¼?¤枏齿煾¤½誩®¼?¼捏摰单¼?蒂æ污撘瑕圻è甇飒 | 5And behold the men of that city in the night beset the house wherein I was, intending to kill me, and abused my wife with an incredible fury of lust, so that at last she died. |
| 6å删隞硋穃銁隞亥å銝剥刊¡?º嗵狙å璆菜ç靝º页¼?煾°污å鞟¢¡¼?漤隞亥åå抅璆剖ã | 6And I took her and cut her in pieces, and sent the, parts into all the borders of your possession: because there never was so heinous a crime, and so great an abomination committed in Israel. |
| 7隞亥å摮重嚗?«衤½惩穃之摰嗉牧å雿惩呓¦见?°滨硔 | 7You are all here, O children of Israel, determine what you ought to do. |
| 8éæ擃娍°䔿憟贤譍¸å衤荦銝璅?韏瑚¾牧嚗?穃睲叶隤唬¹煺¸滩¦¿噼撌修董挢¼?狐銋煺¸滩¦噼撌梁振嚗 | 8And all the people standing, answered as by the voice of one man: We will not return to our tents, neither shall any one of us go into his own house: |
| 9çå銁æ穃穃停阆蹱见撠滢»å抅鞎苷º嚗?蝐日脱嚗 | 9But this we will do in common against Gabaa: |
| 10ç眏隞亥åå瘣历叶嚗?¯雠参鈭箸å荦嚗?¯誩荦æç参鈭绰¼?¯呓鈭箸å荦嚗?策瘗䔿é钅»滨扣嚗¾䔿鈭筝?éæéçå抅鞎苷º驱?¼?厩éå銁隞亥å銝剥銵?靝º见驱拙® | 10We will take ten men of a hundred out of all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred out of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to bring victuals for the army, that we might fight against Gabaa of Benjamin, and render to it for its wickedness, what it deserveth. |
| 11æ䲰æ糓隞亥å鈭卑å?丝靘æå¼?虾甇文?½匧¦¸鈭箝 | 11And all Israel were gathered together against the city, as one man, with one mind, and one counsel: |
| 12隞亥åç䔿æ瘣晓榆鈭筝¾æéæ瘣晔振隤迎¼?½惩睲叶é獐ç䔄ç煺º蹱见ç鈭页¼ | 12And they sent messengers to all the tribe of Benjamin to say to them: Why hath so great an abomination been found among you? |
| 13çå銁雿惩烐鈭荦嚗?朗å抅鞎苷ºç鞈港¹见¾¼?漱å靘¼?穃穃末è闹香隞硋¼?¾隞亥å銝剖䳍é膄é䠷æãæé摮重å㭱銝滩è驱硺»硋 ¼笔隞亥å摮鼗°鐤è嚗 | 13Deliver up the men of Gabaa, that have committed this heinous crime, that they may die, and the evil may be taken away out of Israel. But they would not hearken to the proposition of their brethren the children of Israel: |
| 14æé摮重å滩?¾䞶馆丝靘¼?¾?å抅鞎苷º嚗?¦隞亥å摮鼗°睲漱æ?ã | 14But out of all the cities which were of their lot, they gathered themselves together into Gabaa, to aid them, and to fight against the whole people of Israel. |
| 15é銝憭抬¼æé鈭筝¾䞶¾閮?èåå嚉åç¼å抅鞎苷ºç±°穃°閮?®堒銁åã | 15And there were found of Benjamin five and twenty thousand men that drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gabaa, |
| 16å銁é嗘º荦銝哨¼?厩鹱éç¸参蝎晓嚗?撌血é见¼橒¼?见贝ç鍂璈毺µ讠嚗?神é¸滨?ã | 16Who were seven hundred most valiant men, fighting with the left hand as well as with the right: and slinging stones so sure that they could hit even a hair, and not miss by the stone's going on either side. |
| 17æé鈭粹膄憭吔¼隞亥å鈭筝æ匧æ嚉åç¼?见钅æ糓æ?憯怒 | 17Of the men of Israel also, beside the children of Benjamin, were found four hundred thousand that drew swords, and were prepared to fight. |
| 18隞亥å摮鼗°丝頨思¸?鞎萘鹱è³嚗?±誩予銝饷牧嚗?穃睲叶隤啖府å ?¸绦èæé摮重雿?嚗麄滢¸蜓蝑磰牧嚗ç薗憭§å ?绦ã | 18And they arose and came to the house of God, that is, to Silo: and they consulted God, and said: Who shall be in our army the first to go to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the Lord answered them: Let Juda be your leader. |
| 19æ䲰æ糓隞亥å摮鼗°烐æ膥韏瑚¾¼?°滩å抅鞎苷º摰厩麄 | 19And forthwith the children of Israel rising in the morning, camped by Gabaa: |
| 20隞亥å鈭筝靘¦æé鈭箔漱æ?嚗?銁å抅鞎苷ºå漤æ唍é腼蝑匧¾»硋㻫 | 20And going out from thence to fight against Benjamin, began to assault the city. |
| 21æé摮重驱å抅鞎苷ºå靘¿举?嚗?銝憭拇捏甇台ºº?鈭?隞亥å鈭箝 | 21And the children of Benjamin coming out of Gabaa, slew of the children of Israel that day two and twenty thousand men. |
| 22隞亘¾?¼?䔿隞亥åå?¼刊丝å除嚗??銁å滢¸æ掸腼çæ䲮掸腼ã | 22Again Israel trusting in their strength and their number, set their army in array in the same place, where they had fought before: |
| 23鈭见㵪¼隞亥å摮鼗°穃 ?¸?鞎萘鹱è³嚗?銁銝蜓éå滚å揑嚗?¸ç凒å?æ纸¸¼?驱?±譍¸蜓隤迎¼?穃穃虾å炏å滚绦è穃¼笔 æé鈭斗?嚗麄滢¸蜓蝑磰牧嚗?虾銝绦ææ瓐 | 23Yet so that they first went up and wept before the Lord until night: and consulted him, and said: Shall I go out any more to fight against the children of Benjamin my brethren, or not? And he answered them: Go up against them, and join battle. |
| 24æ䲰æ糓蝚砌º?予嚗隞亥å摮鼗°穃?绦æææé摮重ã | 24And when the children of Israel went out the next day to fight against the children of Benjamin, |
| 25æé鈭个洵鈭?予銋笔¾å抅鞎苷ºå靘隞亥å鈭箔漱æ?嚗??捏甇台º¸èåå隞亥å摮鼗°¼?æ糓æ嚉åç荦ã | 25The children of Benjamin sallied forth out of the gates of Gabaa: and meeting them made so great a slaughter of them, as to kill eighteen thousand men that drew the sword. |
| 26隞亥åç䔿摮鼗°¼?朗å瘗䔿嚗??¸?鞎萘鹱è³嚗?銁銝蜓éå滚å揑嚗?㟲æ蝳£毺凒å?æ纸¸¼诳驱?¼?銁銝蜓éå滨㭱鈭ç平è?像蟡准 | 26Wherefore all the children of Israel came to the house of God, and sat and wept before the Lord: and they fasted that day till the evening, and offered to him holocausts, and victims of peace offerings, |
| 27ã鞾æ予銝饵´«迤å銁é鋆∴¼??鈭鲉ç重å钅燵å萘?ç 鍦銝蓥¹?鱻å銁蝝«滢¾ã隞亥å摮鼗°穃?±譍¸蜓隤迎¼?穃烐糓å炏æ匧滚绦è穃¼笔 æé鈭箔漱æ?嚗糓隡烐?嚗麄滢¸蜓蝑磰牧嚗?½惩烐劐¸绦嚗?删æ烐予敹°»硋睲漱å銁雿惩烐衤叶ã | 27And inquired of him concerning their state. At that time the ark of the covenant of the Lord was there, |
| 28隞亥å鈭筝停å銁å抅鞎苷ºå閮凋¸衤¼誩ã | 28And Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron was over the house. So they consulted the Lord and said: Shall we go out any more to fight against the children of Benjamin our brethren, or shall we cease? And the Lord said to them: Go up, for to morrow I will deliver them into your hands. |
| 29蝚砌¸匧予隞亥å摮鼗°睲¸绦æææé摮重嚗?銁å抅鞎苷º撠漤掸腼嚗?誩滚甈∩¸璅? | 29And the children of Israel set ambushes round about the city of Gabaa: |
| 30æé摮重å靘¿举訽嚗?◤撘訫å¤吔¼?銁å璇嘥之頝臭¸¼?â銝璇嗪¾鞎萘鹱è³嚗?¸璇嗪¾å抅鞎萘´ 嚗?âå誩滚甈∩¸璅?¼?见§捏æ訽嚗?銁ç视é停畾箸香鈭´劐¸匧隞亥å鈭箝 | 30And they drew up their army against Benjamin the third time, as they had done the first and second. |
| 31æé摮重é牧嚗?»硋穃誩齿活銝璅?¼?銁æ穃煾å齿º滢½隞亥å摮鼗°穃㭱隤迎¼?穃睲¸滚¦¾?嚗?¼蓥»硋煾å¼??憭扯楝銝¾ | 31And the children of Benjamin boldly issued out of the city, and seeing their enemies flee, pursued them a long way, so as to wound and kill some of them, as they had done the first and second day, whilst they fled by two highways, whereof one goeth up to Bethel, and the other to Gabaa, and they slew about thirty men: |
| 32ç訜隞亥åç䔿鈭筝¾硺»硋æ䲮韏瑚¾¼?銁撌渲喳¡麐ç?掸腼ç辷¼隞亥åç¼誩驱é仪撌´镼输衤¼雠æ䲮銵嘥靘¼ | 32For they thought to cut them off, as they did before. But they artfully feigning a flight, designed to draw them away from the city, and by their seeming to flee to bring them to the highways aforesaid. |
| 33å隞亥å銝剜éåç¸è蝎晓朣¾æå抅鞎苷º嚗??ç?é䞶虏瞈ç?¼?½糓æé鈭粹¸滨䰻é枏之蝳滩éã | 33Then all the children of Israel rising up out of the places where they were, set their army in battle array, in the place which is called Baalthamar. The ambushes also which were about the city, began by little and little to come forth, |
| 34銝蜓å銁隞亥åå齿æé鈭绰¼?銝憭©隞亥å摮鼗°烐捏甇»æé鈭筝æ劐º?鈭¸ç参嚗?æ糓æ嚉åç荦ã | 34And to march from the west side of the city. And other ten thousand men chosen out of all Israel attacked the inhabitants of the city. And the battle grew hot against the children of Benjamin: and they understood not that present death threatened them on every side. |
| 35é蹱见嚗æé摮重ç见è撌勖歇憭望煺¾隞亥å鈭箔¾苷»堒銁å抅鞎苷ºæ閮凋¸讠¼誩嚗? ?銁æé鈭筝漤å㭱嚗 | 35And the Lord defeated them before the children of Israel, and they slew of them in that day five and twenty thousand, and one hundred, all fighting men and that drew the sword. |
| 36隡誩æ仿蠘¡嘥å抅鞎苷º嚗?¡嗪脖¹见¾?¼?鍂å撅䭾捏鈭å荦ã | 36But the children of Benjamin when they saw themselves to be too weak, began to flee. Which the children of Israel seeing, gave them place to flee, that they might come to the ambushes that were prepared, which they had set near the city. |
| 37å笔 隞亥å鈭卑¼誩蝝®¼?銁åæç嚗?诳ç 嗵銝辰çè麄 | 37And they that were in ambush arose on a sudden out of their coverts, and whilst Benjamin turned their backs to the slayers, went into the city, and smote it with the edge of the sword. |
| 38隞亥å鈭筝銁æ?å聦銝伃éç辷¼æéå闹捏甇»隞亥å鈭个´劐¸匧荦嚗?»硋烐嚗?Ⅱ嚗?»硋穃¦滢¸隞¸璅?¼?銁æ穃穃齿捏æº | 38Now the children of Israel had given a sign to them, whom they had laid in ambushes, that after they had taken the city, they should make a fire: that by the smoke rising on high, they might shew that the city was taken. |
| 39ç訜ç 蹱靽∟笔¾䞶叶銝辰ç辷¼æé鈭卑½厂馆澈靘¼?¦见å 嗵瘝硋予嚗 | 39And when the children of Israel saw this in the battle (for the children of Benjamin thought they fled and pursued them vigorously, killing thirty men of their army) |
| 40éæ隞亥å鈭箔¹蠘½㕑澈å硺¾¼æé鈭筝之ç撽 ?¼?删ç贝¦见之蝳滩é嚗 | 40And perceived as it were a pillar of smoke rise up from the city; and Benjamin looking back, saw that the city was taken, and that the flames ascended on high: |
| 41é銁隞亥å鈭粹å滩½匧烐楝銝绦嚗?½?憯怠㭱餈质驮è?嚗?¾䞶馆ㄐå靘荦銋笔冗æ»硋¼ | 41They that before had made as if they fled, turning their faces stood bravely against them; which the children of Benjamin seeing, turned their backs, |
| 42é蹱见嚗隞亥å鈭箸蔑鈭æé鈭绰¼?萧æ»硋¼?¾隢晓頩漯隞硋¼?凒å?é仪撌´撠漤çæ䲮銋见ã | 42And began to go towards the way of the desert, the enemy pursuing them thither also. And they that fired the city came also out to meet them. |
| 43æé鈭粹腼鈭∩¸èåå¼?æ糓åㄚã | 43And so it was, that they were slain on both sides by the enemies, and there was no rest of their men dying. They fell and were beaten down on the east side of the city Gabaa. |
| 44å擗条荦é頧㕑澈å埈¾暺撗拍嚗隞亥å鈭筝銁頝臭¸?襔鈭»硋睲叶鈭荦嚗诳驱?¼?凒餈贤?é仪撌´嚗?捏鈭º?荦ã | 44And they that were slain in the same place were eighteen thousand men, all most valiant soldiers. |
| 45é銝æ嚗æé銝剥腼鈭∠¼?æ劐º?鈭荦嚗 | 45And when they that remained of Benjamin saw this, they fled into the wilderness and made towards the rock that is called Remmon. In that flight, also as they were straggling and going different ways, they slew of them five thousand men. And as they went farther, they still pursued them, and slew also other two thousand. |
| 46æå?銝讠ç参鈭绰¼?½㕑澈龿¼?凒å?暺撗拍嚗?銁暺撗拍銝凋½譍º? | 46And so it came to pass, that all that were slain of Benjamin in divers places, were five and twenty thousand fighting men, most valiant for war. |
| 47隞亥å鈭筝?䞶?æé摮重é鋆∴¼?荦å?ç頣¼?诳åé¦讠ç鍂å畾个椘嚗蒂撠蝬㯄举±䭾çç埝¯ã | 47And there remained of all the number of Benjamin only six hundred men that were able to escape, and flee to the wilderness: and they abode in the rock Remmon four months. |
