| 1上主，天父，我生命的主宰！不要让我顺从任性的口舌，不要许我因口舌而跌倒。 | 1 And let not the naming of God be usual in thy mouth, and meddle not with the names of saints, for thou shalt not escape free from them. |
| 2谁能督策我的思念，谁能在我心中给与智慧的训导，不宽容我的错误，不放过我的罪过， | 2 For as a slave daily put to the question, is never without a blue mark: so every one that sweareth, and nameth, shall not be wholly pure from sin. |
| 3免得我更加愚昧，我的罪恶加多，罪过满盈，倒在我敌人跟前，为我的仇人所喜笑呢？ | 3 A man that sweareth much, shall be filled with iniquity, and a scourge shall not depart from his house. |
| 4上主，天父，我生命的天主！不要把我丢弃，如他们所想望的。 | 4 And if he make it void, his sin shall be upon him: and if he dissemble it, he offendeth double: |
| 5不要使我眼目高傲，使我不要顺从情欲。 | 5 And if he swear in vain, he shall not be justified: for his house shall be filled with his punishment. |
| 6不要让肚腹的食欲和肉欲的烈火统治着我，也不要让我有一颗无耻愚昧的心。 | 6 There is also another speech opposite to death, let it not be found in the inheritance of Jacob. |
| 7孩子们，请听有关口舌的教导；谁遵守了，就不会成为口舌的囚犯，也不会陷在极凶恶的事中。 | 7 For from the merciful all these things shall be taken away, and they shall not wallow in sins. |
| 8罪人必因自己的唇舌，而陷入罗网；辱骂人的和骄傲人，必因自己的唇舌而跌倒。 | 8 Let not thy mouth be accustomed to indiscreet speech: for therein is the word of sin. |
| 9不要让你的口习惯起誓，因为如此反增加许多过失， | 9 Remember thy father and thy mother, for thou sittest is the midst of great men: |
| 10口里不要习惯称呼圣者的名字，也不要乱呼圣人的字，因为你若如此，就难免无罪。 | 10 Lest God forget thee in their sight, and thou, by thy daily custom, be infatuated and suffer reproach: and wish that thou hadst not been born, and curse the day of thy nativity. |
| 11犹如一个不断受拷问的奴仆，免不了身受创伤；同样，经常发誓和乱呼圣者名字的人，也不能清白无罪。 | 11 The man that is accustomed to opprobrious words, will never be corrected all the days of his life. |
| 12时常起誓的人，必恶贯满盈，他的家庭必会遭殃。 | 12 Two sorts of men multiply sins, and the third bringeth wrath and destruction. |
| 13他若违犯了，必然有罪；他若藐视誓愿，罪更加倍。 | 13 A hot soul is a burning fire, it will never be quenched, till it devour some thing. |
| 14他若发了虚誓，就不能称为义人；他的家庭也必备受惩罚。 | 14 And a man that is wicked in the mouth of his flesh, will not leave off till he hath kindled a fire. |
| 15还有促人早死的话，希望这样的话，总不出现在雅各伯的家中。 | 15 To a man that is a fornicator all bread is sweet, he will not be weary of sinning unto the end. |
| 16虔敬的人，必远离这一切事；他们不会辗转在这些罪恶中。 | 16 Every man that passeth beyond his own bed, despising his own soul, and saying: Who seeth me? |
| 17不要习惯说粗鲁的话，因为其中总有有罪的话。 | 17 Darkness compasseth me about, and the walls cover me, and no man seeth me: whom do I fear? the most High will not remember my sins. |
| 18你坐在大人物中时，要记得你的父母， | 18 And he understandeth not that his eye seeth all things, for such a man's fear driveth from him the fear of God, and the eyes of men fearing him: |
| 19怕你在他们面前，忘了父母，以致因你的习惯，做出糊涂的事来，受到凌辱，遂诅咒你的生辰，深愿你没有生在世上。 | 19 And he knoweth not that the eyes of the Lord are far brighter than the sun, beholding round about all the ways of men, and the bottom of the deep, and looking into the hearts of men, into the most hidden parts. |
| 20惯说责斥话的人，一生不能自律。 | 20 For all things were known to the Lord God, before they were created: so also after they were perfected he beholdeth all things. |
| 21有两种人，恶贯满盈，而第三种人，更招致义怒与丧亡。 | 21 This man shall be punished in the streets of the city, and he shall be chased as a colt: and where he suspected not, he shall be taken. |
| 22炽烈的情欲，像燃起的火，不到烧完，决不熄灭。 | 22 And he shall be in disgrace with all men, because he understood not the fear of the Lord. |
| 23作践自己肉身的人，不到欲火焚尽，也决不停止。 | 23 So every woman also that leaveth her husband, and bringeth in an heir by another : |
| 24纵欲的人，一切食物都是香甜的，至死不厌。 | 24 For first she hath been unfaithful to the law of the most High: and secondly, she hath offended against her husband: thirdly, she hath fornicated in adultery, end hath gotten her children of another man. |
| 25离开自己的床，去犯奸淫，轻贱自己的人，心里说：「谁能看见我？」 | 25 This woman shall be brought into the assembly, and inquisition shall be made of her children. |
| 26「黑暗笼罩着我，墙壁遮蔽着我，没有人能看见我，我还怕什么？至高者决不会记念我的罪恶。」 | 26 Her children shall not take root, and her branches shall bring forth no fruit. |
| 27他不明白至高者的眼目，透视一切；怕人之情，驱散了他敬畏天主的心，使他只怕人的眼目。 | 27 She shall leave her memory to be cursed, and her infamy shall not be blotted out. |
| 28他不知道上主的眼目，比太阳还要光亮万倍。他还视人类的一切行径透视深渊、人心和最隐密的幽处。 | 28 And they that remain shall know. that there is nothing better than the fear of God: and that there is nothing sweeter than to have regard to the commandments of the Lord. |
| 29万物在受造以前，上主天主就认识；完成之后，也是如此。 | 29 It is great glory to follow the Lord for length of days shall be received from him. |
| 30奸淫的人必在城市的街道上，受到惩罚；像马驹一般被人追击，在他不料想的地方被人捉住。 | 30 |
| 31因为他不知敬畏上主，所以人人都以他为耻。 | 31 |
| 32凡离弃丈夫，藉外人生了子嗣的女人，也是如此。 | 32 |
| 33第一、因为她不忠于至高者的法律；第二、因为她得罪自己的丈夫；第三、因为他通奸犯淫，藉外人生了孩子。 | 33 |
| 34她要被拉到集会中，审问她关于子女的事。 | 34 |
| 35她的子女不会生根，她的枝叶也不会结果实。 | 35 |
| 36她遗留下的记念是咒骂，她的耻辱不会抹去。 | 36 |
| 37幸存的人，应该知道：没有什么比敬畏上主更美好，也没有什么比遵循上主的诫命更甘饴。 | 37 |
| 38跟随上主是人的莫大光荣，人还可因此获享长寿。 | 38 |
