| 2我已决定：「我要谨遵我的道路，免得我以口舌犯罪，当恶人在我面前时，我以口罩笼住我嘴。」 | 2With expectation I have waited for the Lord, and he was attentive to me. |
| 3我默不作声，以免口出恶语，但我的痛楚，更因此而加剧。 | 3And he heard my prayers, and brought me out of the pit of misery and the mire of dregs. And he set my feet upon a rock, and directed my steps. |
| 4我的心在我腔内滚滚沸腾，我愈沉思愈觉得烈火如焚；我的舌头便不耐烦地说： | 4And he put a new canticle into my mouth, a song to our God. Many shall see, and shall fear : and they shall hope in the Lord. |
| 5「上主，我恳求你明白启示我：我的终期和寿数究有几何，好使我知道我是何等脆弱。」 | 5Blessed is the man whose trust is in the name of the Lord; and who hath not had regard to vanities, and lying follies. |
| 6看，你使我的岁月屈指可数，我的生命在你前算是虚无。世人的生存，只是一口呵嘘。（休止） | 6Thou hast multiplied thy wonderful works, O Lord my God : and in thy thoughts there is no one like to thee. I have declared and I have spoken they are multiplied above number. |
| 7人生实如泡影，只是白白操劳，他们所有积蓄，不知谁来得到。 | 7Sacrifice and oblation thou didst not desire; but thou hast pierced ears for me. Burnt offering and sin offering thou didst not require : |
| 8我主，现今我还有什么希望？我的希望寄托在你的身上！ | 8then said I, Behold I come. In the head of the book it is written of me |
| 9求你救我脱离我的种种罪愆，不要使我受愚人的耻笑侮慢。 | 9that I should do thy will : O my God, I have desired it, and thy law in the midst of my heart. |
| 10我静默不言，有口不开，因为这事是由你安排。 | 10I have declared thy justice in a great church, lo, I will not restrain my lips : O Lord, thou knowest it. |
| 11求你由我身上除去这场灾患，因你手的打击，我已消瘦不堪。 | 11I have not hid thy justice within my heart : I have declared thy truth and thy salvation. I have not concealed thy mercy and thy truth from a great council. |
| 12你为了罚罪而把世人惩治，你像蛀虫将他的珍宝侵蚀；至于人，不过只是一口气。（休止） | 12Withhold not thou, O Lord, thy tender mercies from me : thy mercy and thy truth have always upheld me. |
| 13上主，求你俯听我的祈祷，求你侧耳静听我的哀告，莫要作聋不听我的哭号。因为我在你前只是旅客，如我列祖一样只是路过。 | 13For evils without number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was not able to see. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head : and my heart hath forsaken me. |
| 14求你转移你的目光，不要怒视我，使我一去不返之前，能得享安乐。 | 14Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me, look down, O Lord, to help me. |
